Sadiya Qureshi is a character in the lore of BATTLEGROUNDS.
Biography
Daughter of Amir Qureshi, octopus farmer turned smuggler kingpin. Mr. Qureshi was killed during the now-infamous "Black Wedding" – a brutal coup-massacre which occurred after Qureshi’s men learned their leader had agreed to sell the island to a mysterious buyer. Sadiya survived the massacre; her fiancé wasn’t so lucky. She was offered a king’s ransom as payment for the island. She refused. Instead, she volunteered to participate in the next Battleground on the island. She fought wearing the tattered remains of her wedding dress. To date it was the most popular Battleground, still talked about by those who had the privilege to have watched it. Rare was a combatant with determination like Sadiya, and she was likened to an infamous survivor of a long-ago Great Hunt; a new "diamond in the rough."
