The Compensator for SMG is a muzzle type attachment in BATTLEGROUNDS. Compensators are attachments with baffles that redirect muzzle gas in an effort to combat recoil or drift. It does this by redirecting the gases in the opposing direction of weapon drift and recoil so that the gas counteracts the action of the weapon.
Summary
This uncommon attachment has no downsides, simply reducing further the already minimal recoil of submachine guns and therefore increasing effectiveness both at range and in close quarters.
Trivia
- In reality, most compensators increase stability and decrease recoil at the cost of increasing the size of the muzzle blast and sound pressure of the gunshot. Linear compensators do not suffer from these issues as they redirect the high pressure gas forward at a reduced velocity.
